Woohoo! You did it — you’re all booked in for a powerful photo session with me. Thank you.
My team and I can't wait to create a beautiful experience for you. You’re going to have so much fun (us too)!
Let’s get you ready for your in-studio shoot.
Below you’ll find all the essential information on how to best prepare; along with all the nitty gritty details.
Elevating your personal brand starts now.
Your next steps.
Step 1
Fill out the branding questionnaire.
This will help us to understand you and your business better. Just as importantly, it will get you thinking bigger and bolder — the perfect energy to incorporate in your shoot.
Some clients treat this like a copywriting exercise. But don’t worry, it should only take about 15 minutes.
Keep your brand identity file handy if you have one. And if you’ve created a Pinterest mood board (highly recommended), be sure to copy+paste the link into the questionnaire. Alternatively, you can always email it to me.
Sidenote: Must you have a mood board? Not at all. But it sure does help to visualise how you want to see yourself. Definitely give it a go if you can.
Step 2
Book your complimentary 1 hour Zoom styling session with MeaghanStyles Stylist.
Lock it in as soon as you've completed the questionnaire. This way you’ll have plenty of time pre-shoot to get your outfits sorted. Meaghan will have access to your questionnaire answers, to better serve you.
Once booked, Meaghan will send you information on how to prepare for your session with her. This includes pulling out items from your wardrobe, to show her what you’ve got. Meaghan has a great eye for spotting potential outfits that you’d never considered.
She’ll then give you tips on how to best style them; or advise if you need to purchase some key pieces to polish your look.
Remember, your clothes hold energy. New outfits that make you feel empowered and confident might be a great idea. Particularly if you're ready to step into a more powerful you.
Think you may need some extra help with what’s currently in your wardrobe, maybe shopping for some new pieces? Talk to Meaghan about the options she offers my personal branding clients (associated investment costs paid directly to her). She’s always happy to guide you through the whole process — Meaghan has walked the very path you are about to embark on.
MeaghanStyles can utilise what you already own, take you shopping, outline what more you can purchase, and be in the studio styling you on the day of your photoshoot.
Step 3
Prepare your mind and body by listening to these 3 powerful, guided meditations — specially created by Life and Business Coach, Jocelyn Chong.
They focus on self-love, worthiness and empowerment. You can listen to them as often and whenever you like. No restrictions.
Afterwards, if you feel connected and would love to go deeper with Jocelyn, why not book in for a private coaching session with her. Tailored specifically for my amazing clients, they’ll help you break through any limiting beliefs or fears. Click here to learn more.
Step 4
Get excited!
Trust the process.
Bring your best energy and simply be authentically you.
Nothing else, nothing more.
Nitty Gritty
Not sure what to expect? Here’s a quick outline of your day.
9:20am: Arrive at 40 Advantage Road, Highett. Look for the green building labelled ‘LUNA’.
Buzz me on 0421946824 when you arrive, and I will show you where to park.
9:25am: Head into the studio. I’ll help you unpack your outfits, hang and steam them (if needed).
9:30am: Hair and makeup.
10:30ish: Time to jump in front of the camera.
1:30: We’re all done for the day. Walk away feeling abuzz from your empowering, brand elevating photo session.
Some tips worth mentioning
Before the photoshoot:
- Drink a lot of water in the days leading up to the shoot; and avoid alcohol (for at least a couple of days).
- Do a manicure and pedicure (in case we do some chilled barefoot shots). You don’t need anything fancy. Opt for natural or neutral colours or any bold colour you love.
- To get in the right mood create and bring along a playlist (on Spotify or other medium) with your favourite music. We can play the tunes in the studio. No playlist? No problem. I always have happy music on.
- Wash your hair the night before. Use shampoo only, to make it easier to style on the day. Feel free to send me photos of how you would like your hair and makeup done so I can pass it on to my stylists.
- Give yourself some self-care. Face masks and relaxing are a good call. And most importantly, get good sleep.
On the day:
- Arrive without makeup. Just moisturiser, please. But do bring your makeup just in case, including your fave lipstick.
- Wardrobe - bring as much as you can, based on your styling session with Meaghan. We'd rather have more than less, so it's easier to mix and match.
- Make sure you feel comfortable and confident in everything. Keep your branding colours in mind, but don't overthink it. Any complimentary and contrasting colours work well.
- Avoid busy patterns unless they are part of your brand.
- Keep black coloured clothing to a minimum. It’s very heavy in photos (unless it’s a small piece).
- Jeans, t-shirts, blouses and jackets are good for casual lifestyle shots. As I focus more on close-ups to create connection, I'd rather have a wide range of tops than bottoms. You can check some examples of what my clients wear here, for inspiration. My portfolio is colour-sorted, from light to dark, so you can scope out the whole rainbow 😊.
- Please bring your own hangers.
- Don’t forget to bring accessories if they are part of your style. That includes belts for shaping.
- Shoes — if you love shoes and want to show them off, we can include them in full body shots. If, like me, you’re not too fussed, bring along:
- A couple pairs of heels to give you extra confidence, and good posture for any elegant/smart outfits
- A pair of sneakers if they are part of your style (simple white ones work really well)
- A pair of Ugg boots or similar to keep your feet warm while walking around the studio space.
- Props — more on this below
- Bring light snacks to keep your energy up if you get hungry on the day as it's a high paced day. We have water, coffee and a selection of teas
Props
Props are not essential, but more than welcome. Think outside the box. Let the props help tell your story and show your personality.
Some ideas include:
- Flowers (I can order a bunch for you, if you let me know in advance),
- Your favourite books — up to 10 would be great as we can use them to create sets,
- Notebooks, agendas, diaries,
- Pens and writing implements,
- A favourite cup/mug, cushions, or items you love having in your workspace,
- Laptop (I have a grey MacBook Pro you can use)
Frankly, anything that goes well with your branding and makes you stand out is a good prop to have. So if pets play a big part of your life and your business, they are more than welcome to join in the fun 💖.
